Below are the step-by-step instructions for using our online exam software for MIBoC exams.
MIBoC exams include; Vibration Analysis (VCAT I, VCAT II, VCAT III, VCAT IV), Ultrasound (UCAT I), Infrared Thermography (IRTCAT I) and Reliability (ARP-A, ARP-E and ARP-L).
The MIBoC certification exam is taken online via Google Chrome and the Proctorio Chrome Extension. The settings are quite sensitive so once you commence the exam you will be unable to access any other information on your computer without the exam session closing. If you open any other application during your exam session, you will be immediately logged out and will need to contact exams@mobiusinstitute.com for assistance with the reset of your test attempt.
Your invigilator will need to unlock your certification exam with their session password and MUST be present and actively observing you in person in the same room from the commencement of the invigilated exam through to the end of the exam.
Once you are ready to commence your exam;
- Close all programs except for Google Chrome which you will be used to sit your exam, then follow the link for the login page https://mobius-inst.youtestme.com/ytm34/login.xhtml
- When you reach this login screen, please enter your individual username and password then press the Sign In button.
- Please select “My assignments” to see a list of all tests assigned to you.
- Please read the exam instructions and tick “I understand and agree with the instructions and rules of the assignment”. Your invigilator will then unlock your exam with their Session Password. To proceed, please click “Start with Proctor”.
Please note you can access your practice exam without a "Session Password".
- You will need to allow access to your camera and microphone by selecting “Allow”.
- Proctorio wants to share the contents of your screen. Please click on the small window that shows the content of your browser and select “Share”.
- Once you have read “Before you Begin”, please click “Continue”.
- The system will then proceed with a Systems Diagnostics Test to check whether the camera, microphone, and internet connection are in order.
Please note if this screen is blank click the statement "Don't see yourself above? Click here" to ensure you are recoding correctly before starting the exam.It is a requirement that the exam session is video recorded, the exam settings are already configured so that the system will do this automatically for you. Please make sure your invigilator is included in the video at the start of the exam session when checking your photo ID and in intervals during your exam.
- Please read the Exam Agreement and click “I accept, begin exam now”.
- To start your exam session, select “Start”. Once you have started the exam you are not able to stop or pause it, and you cannot re-start the exam after the allowed time period has finished.
- You can select the exam language for each question from the drop-down. This will default to the language of the exam requested.
- Please click on the WEBCAM icon. This opens up a round frame with a preview of the camera view which you can leave open during your exam. If this preview is black, please contact Proctorio support as mentioned below.
- The presence of cell/mobile phones or any other electronic communication, image capturing (other than the exam software) or data storage devices during the exam is strictly prohibited. You are only allowed a basic non-programmable calculator (the calculator option on a smartphone is not allowed).
- Your invigilator MUST be present and actively observing you in person in the same room from the commencement through to the end of the exam.
- Once you have completed the exam you will be automatically logged out.
- Once the exam is completed please ensure all written/hardcopy material (inclusive of notes taken and reference materials) is destroyed.
